Arnold E. (Arnie) Ensfield
Arnie is the Executive Director of Covenant Village Camp. He grew up on a farm in Michigan, where his family raised apples, pears, and cherries. He was trained as a mechanical engineer and met his wife at Purdue University. During the Vietnam War, he served as an Naval officer aboard nuclear powered submarines and later taught "driver training" at the Navy's Submarine School. While teaching at Sub School, he took night classes and received an MBA from the University of New Haven. As a hobby, he rebuilt a player piano. Arnie had a successful engineering career, with Rockwell International/Boeing, by knowing something about submarines. He later retrained himself as a simulation analyst and electromagnetic test engineer for the Missile Defense Program. Arnie and his wife, Carolyn, have been married for 41 years, have three married daughters, and eight grandchildren. Arnie and Carolyn became believers at Forest Home Christian Conference in California on July 27 and 28, 1976, respectively. Nine months later, God called them to the ministry of Covenant Village on April 17, 1977. Click here for more details. Arnie has said many times that if Covenant Village was his own idea, he would have quit with frustration many times...but it was God's idea and His encouragement has kept them going on this project for 31 years. Arnie regularly teaches an adult sunday school class and preaches on occasion. He would be eager to speak to your church or group about Covenant Village and how we might serve Christ by serving you.
