Our goal is to provide place of hospitality that is safe, peaceful, and conducive to people recognizing God's hand in nature and in their own lives.
To meet that goal for your group and others to follow, it will be helpful for you to understand our expectations and guidelines for using our facilities.
- Please do NOT bring the following kinds of things to Covenant Village: firearms, weapons, firecrackers, illegal substances, alcoholic beverages, or pets.
- When you are at Covenant Village, please respect our neighbors and community. Drive safely. Don't park along the roadway. Do not trespass on our neighbors' property. The Covenant Village property boundary is marked with orange paint on the trees and large white No Hunting, No Trespassing signs. If in doubt, stay on our trails or ask us first.
- Covenant Village is mostly wooded and adjoins the 10,000 acre Buchanan State Forest. Therefore, you can expect to see some wildlife that may be new or unusual to your group. The following animals have been sighted at Covenant Village or nearby: deer, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, woodchucks, turkey, skunks, porcupines, black snakes, copperhead snakes, rattle snakes, black bears, bobcats, and panthers. A certain degree of danger can occur when wildlife is not respected. Please do not leave food or garbage outside or in tents that might attract critters.
- If you operate a vehicle at Covenant Village, please be extra cautious. Those in your group or another group may not be expecting traffic. Drive only on our roads. Do not drive through the fields or forest. Our concern is for your safety, our insurance liability, the maintenance of our beautiful property, and the fact that we sell hay each year from the fields. In short, this is not a playground for sport utility vehicles.
- Please plan to leave things where you found them. Take home all of your belongings. We cannot be responsible for items left at Covenant Village. In general leave the place looking as nice as you found it. If you find things that are unsafe, broken or missing, please call 703-203-1033 or leave a note on the kitchen table when you leave.
- If you or your group accidentally damages something, please also report it to us. As you would expect, you and your group are responsible for any damage that occurs.
